“When we plant a rose seed in the earth, we notice it is small, but we do not criticize it as “rootless and stemless.”
‘We treat it as a seed, giving it the water and nourishment required of a seed.
“When it first shoots up out of the earth, we don’t condemn it as immature and underdeveloped, nor do we criticize the buds for not being open when they appear.
‘We stand in wonder at the process taking place, and give the plant the care it needs at each stage of its development.
“The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies. Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential.
‘It seems to be constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is.
“A flower is not better when it blooms than when it is merely a bud; at each stage it is the same thing — a flower in the process of expressing its potential.”
Dedicated to all those I love, in the season of love. Please know that I see your potential.
“of all the ways we have found to hurt ourselves, the worst has been through love. We are always suffering because of someone who doesn’t love us, or someone who has left us, or someone who won’t leave us”—Paulo Coelho - Aleph - reminds us that nothing is ever purely good or bad
Museums curate art exhibits. They choose key pieces that they love and pull them all together. In the same way we could curate our wardrobes. This also works with the minimalist vibe which I have been trying and succeeding with in other areas of my household with the exception of my wardrobe. What would it be like to have a wardrobe where I love every piece?
Should never be offered to the mouth of a stranger,
Only to someone who has the valor and daring
To cut pieces of their soul off with a knife
Then weave them into a blanket
To protect you.”—Hafez - a poet
